Can I Repair my credit on my own?

It is possible to repair your credit on your own but don't discount the benefit of consulting a true
professional.  For example, we hire architects to design our homes, painters to paint them, and real
estate agents to sell them for us.  Could we do this on our own?  Yes, but most of us consult these
professionals because of their expertise in a certain area.  Your credit report is your first impression
to lenders and others who check into your credit worthiness. The service of trusted professional to
dispute inaccuracies is invaluable.

Most people who choose not to consult with a credit repair company typically use standard credit
repair forms that are available online or in various credit repair books. Using these forms can be a
big mistake. By using a credit repair company that does not use these standard forms you can avoid
being spotted by the credit bureaus which will improve your likelihood of having inaccuracies
removed.

We are experts at what we do! We will avoid by all possible means giving out any negative
information about your credit standing. People who do not have the expert experience we offer often
mistakenly disclose negative information which makes their credit even worse. We also have the time
to dedicate to repairing your credit. After all, it is what we do best!

How Can ACRCS repair my credit?

We start by examining our client’s credit file held by each of the major credit reporting bureaus
(TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian).

We will then identify any accounts that contain information that could be considered adverse. Next,
with the client’s permission, we dispute all of the accounts that contain inaccurate, erroneous, or
obsolete information on the client’s behalf and attempt to have the accounts deleted or updated
accordingly. We continue to work on any negative accounts that may still remain as we receive new
updates from the clients.

Finally, we counsel our clients on how to avoid future negative credit listings and educate them with
helpful tips on how to use their credit to their advantage and boost their scores.

How long will it take to see results?

Our clients can receive results in as little as 45 business days. All updates are mailed from each credit
reporting agency directly to the client. The packets our clients receive from the credit reporting
agencies include a cover sheet stating all of the updates along with a copy of their new credit report.
The total time the repair process takes depends on the number of accounts that contain adverse
information and how quickly the client forwards their results to us.

We determine the level of success our clients have received by carefully reviewing the results and
challenging additional inaccuracies. The client must work with us to get the results they desire.
Working as a team will help the client improve their accountability and responsibility with their credit.
We’re not just here to repair your credit; we want to help you learn how to keep your report sound
and accurate.

Does paying off old bills repair my credit?

Not immediately. Many people think that paying off their bills will automatically improve their credit,
however; the credit reporting system simply does not work that way. When a client pays an old debt,
the negative credit listing does not disappear.  Quite often, the date of last activity for that account is
updated to reflect the client's last payment. Actually, this may further lower their credit score. The
account is now reported as a paid collection or charge off instead of reporting as unpaid.
Furthermore, in some cases, contacting the creditor or attempting to pay these old debts can even re-
enact the statute of limitations and set you up for further collection attempts and, in extreme cases,
even a lawsuit.

ACRCS can help you get your credit report where it needs to be!
